Shared care is easier when everyone can answer the same basic questions: When was the last feed? How long did the baby sleep? Is there anything the next person needs to know?
Agree on what is worth recording
Choose the few details that matter most in your home. Consistently logging feeds, sleep, and diapers is usually more useful than trying to capture every part of the day.
Check timers during a handoff
A feeding or sleep timer left running can make the rest of the day confusing. When care changes hands, take a moment to check that active timers and recent entries are up to date.
Leave short, useful notes
A note such as 'drank less than usual' or 'had trouble settling' can give the next caregiver enough context. The goal is not to explain the whole afternoon—just to pass along what matters.
